Choosing a therapist is an investment in your emotional health, and it's important to understand how different models of care work.
I offer private-pay therapy as my primary model of care because it allows for flexibility, thoughtfulness, and depth that are often limited within insurance-driven structures. This approach supports work that is collaborative, reflective, and tailored to each individual rather than shaped by external requirements.
What Private Pay Allows
A private-pay model allows for:
- Flexible session pacing based on your needs
- Greater clinical autonomy
- A sustainable caseload that prioritizes presence and continuity
- Care that is not dictated by diagnostic or utilization requirements
- Space for therapy to unfold thoughtfully rather than feeling rushed or procedural
This structure supports therapy that focuses on insight, relationship patterns, and long-term change rather than short-term symptom management alone.
What About Insurance?
I also work with a limited number of clients using insurance through Headway. Insurance-based care follows specific guidelines set by each plan, including reimbursement limits and documentation requirements.
Because of these constraints, insurance availability is intentionally limited and may not always be open. When insurance-covered openings are full, clients may choose to pursue private-pay therapy or check back for future availability.
Is Private Pay a Good Fit for You?
Private-pay therapy may be a good fit if you:
- Are seeking depth-oriented, relational work
- Value individualized pacing and consistency
- Prefer flexibility over diagnosis-driven care
- Want therapy to feel collaborative rather than transactional
If you are unsure which option is right for you, you are welcome to explore availability through scheduling.
